For measuring the brake disc thickness
−
The wear of the lining can be observed through the observation
hole on the caliper, and the thickness of the lining can be
measured with a vernier caliper. When the thickness is equal to
or less than 2mm, the lining must be replaced with a new one
(in addition, the alarm device of lining can be used to judge
whether the lining needs to be replaced).
Measuring the thickness of the friction lining
Instruction
Disc brake calipers are equipped with an alarm piece on the lining,
which moves with the lining during braking. When the lining is
worn to the extent that it needs to be replaced, the alarm piece will
scratch the brake disc and make a "squeak" sound to remind the
user that the lining needs to be replaced.
