SPEAKER MENU Settings
Playing a test tone
When you wish to play a test tone, make sure the sound mode is set
to “SURROUND ON” or “THEATER.” The test tone will not play
in other modes.
1.
Open the SPEAKER MENU.
See page 43, “Opening the SPEAKER MENU”.
2.
Switch the speaker mode to EXPERT.
3.
Move the pointer to TEST TONE using the
5
/
∞
cursors.
4.
Press ENTER.
Test tones will be played in the following order:
Left Front Speaker
=
Center Speaker
=
Right Front Speaker
±
≠
Left Rear Speaker
+
Right Rear Speaker
• The note icon on the screen moves to the active speaker.
On the center unit, the audio channel display lamp also
moves to the active speaker, and the name of the active
speaker appears in the display window, reflecting the
configuration of the audio channel display lamps.
• The test tone is 6.
To stop the test tone,
move the pointer to TEST TONE and press
ENTER.
Note:
• The test tone stops when the pointer moves from TEST TONE
while the speaker selection box displays “SPEAKER SIZE” or
“DELAY”.
Settings may be
entered while the tone
is sounded only if the
speaker selection box
displays “SPEAKER
LEVEL”.
Setting speaker size
1.
Open the SPEAKER MENU.
See page 43, “Opening the SPEAKER MENU”.
2.
Switch the speaker mode to EXPERT.
3.
Move the pointer to the speaker selection box
using the
5
/
∞
cursors.
4.
Use the
2
/
3
cursors to select SPEAKER SIZE.
Pressing the

cursors toggles between the following
settings.

Set speaker size.
Use the

cursors to move to the parameter you wish to set,
then adjust the parameter with the

cursors.
The Note icon on the screen indicates the selected speaker.
Speaker parameters —————————————
Speaker size
Select LARGE when the cone speaker imbedded in the speaker
being used has a diameter of 12 cm or more.
Select SMALL when the diameter is less than 12 cm.
When using this system’s front, center, or rear speakers select
SMALL for each.
Selecting LARGE may result in speaker damage.
F. SP :
Sets left and right front speaker size.

• Select OFF when the rear speaker is not connected, or is

CROSS OVER :
When using a small speaker with weak bass as a
front, center, or rear speaker, you can redirect bass
audio to the sub-woofer. Select a cross over
frequency to match the size of the small speaker
being used.
