11- TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
11.1 Contents of the Voice Mail Pack
The pack is composed of the following items:
•
The voice mail unit.
•
Compact Flash card.
•
An AC/DC adapter (220V - AC, 12V - DC) for connection to the mains.
•
A null modem cable (DB9/DB9) for connection to a PC serial port.
•
3, 5, 7 or 9 phone cables (depending on the model) with RJ11 connectors for
connection to the PBX extensions.
•
1 RJ11-Jack audio 3.5mm mono connector for the music on hold port,
according to configurations.
•
A CD-ROM containing the setup program, a copy of this manual and a copy
of the Graphic Applications Generator manual. The setup program runs
under WinNT 4.0, Win2000, Win 2003, WinXP and Vista and has been
optimized for a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
•
2 wall-mount fixtures
•
2 rack-mount fixtures (according to version).

11.3 System Architecture
•
The unit has been developed with the latest generation of Motorola
COLDFIRE microprocessors and a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) controlling
each port.
•
The compression rate is 9.6 Kbits/s in standard quality messages and 64
Kbits/s in high quality mode (PCM). High quality may only be applied to
outgoing messages.
•
64 Kbits/s PCM reproduction on music on hold port.
•
On the mother board the unit also incorporates Flash and CMOS RAM
memories which are used to store the programs, system messages and the
configuration parameters. Messages left by users are stored on the hard disk
