Control of the Fresh Air Intake
The fresh airflow is configured in the Unit Ventilator Controller configuration
wizard. You can control fresh airflow by one of the following options:
•
Entering a minimum damper position on the general settings screen of the
UVC configuration wizard.
•
Comparing mixed air temperature with return and outdoor air temperature.
Using this method, the amount of fresh air entering the system can be
calculated as a percentage of total air volume. This percentage is compared to
the minimum intake specified in the wizard. The result of this comparison is
used to move the damper.
Sensing the CO

concentration within the space and using the output of the CO
2
PID Loop to drive the damper (Figure 16).
Outputs That Control the Fresh Air Damper
The fresh air damper is controlled by outputs Min_Fresh_Air_Enable, a digital
output, or Fresh_Air_Damper_Mod, a modulated output.
Min_Fresh_Air_Enable
This digital output is not for direct use with modulating dampers. It is intended for
use with an ON/OFF fresh air damper or automatic economizer control.
