5.2 Mounting tubeless tyres
A.
Lubricate the entire rim surface (Fig. 5.2-1).
Lubricate both tyre beads, inside and outside, with
tyre-specific lubricant (
Fig. 5.2-2
).
OBSERVE THE ROTATION DIRECTION OF THE
TYRE, IF REQUIRED. SOME TYRES HAVE A
COLOUR DOT THAT MUST BE KEPT ON THE
OUTSIDE OF THE WHEEL.
LIBERAL LUBRICATION IS NECESSARY TO MOUNT
TYRE CORRECTLY AND PROPERLY CENTRE IT
ON THE RIM. ENSURE TO USE TYRE-SPECIFIC
LUBRICANT ONLY.
B.
Lock the rim on the wheel support and rotate it to
have the valve in 5 o’clock position. Place the tyre to
be mounted on the rim. Swing the tower forward so
that the mounting/demounting tool is in the working
position.
ENSURE THAT THE MOUNTING/DEMOUNTING
TOOL IS NOT LOCKED IN A POSITION WHERE IT
WOULD HIT THE RIM EDGE BEFORE TILTING THE
COLUMN FORWARD.
C.
Engage the lower bead OVER the mounting wing
and UNDER the mounting finger of the tool. Turn the
wheel support clockwise and push the bead down into
the drop centre, opposite the tool (
Fig. 5.2-3
).
D.
To mount the upper bead it is possible to use the
upper disk and the BEAD PRESSER device (
Fig. 5.2-
4
). The use of these devices together with the wheel
support rotation will facilitate the mounting operation.
