5.0 Mounting and demounting
the tyres - General
precautions
CAUTION
:
BEFORE MOUNTING A TYRE ON A RIM ENSURE
THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE OBSERVED:
A- THE RIM MUST BE CLEAN AND IN GOOD
CONDITION: IF NECESSARY CLEAN IT AFTER
REMOVING ALL WHEEL-WEIGHTS INCLUDING
‘TAPE WEIGHTS’ INSIDE THE RIM.
B- THE TYRE MUST BE CLEAN AND DRY, WITH
NO DAMAGE TO THE BEAD AND THE CASING.
C- REPLACE THE RUBBER VALVE WITH A NEW
ONE OR REPLACE THE O-RING IF THE VALVE
IS MADE OF METAL.
D- IF THE TYRE REQUIRES A TUBE, MAKE SURE
THE TUBE IS DRY AND IN GOOD CONDITION.
E- LUBRICATION IS NECESSARY FOR CORRECT
MOUNTING OF THE TYRE AND PROPER
CENTRING OF THE COVER. USE ONLY AN
APPROVED LUBRICANT FOR TYRES.
F- MAKE SURE THE TYRE IS OF THE CORRECT
SIZE FOR THE RIM.
