FAULT FINDING
The following table lists typical symptoms and supply the actions to be taken. Should these actions not resolve the
problem then a Jetmaster service technician must be consulted.
SYMPTOM
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
Gas smell
•
Immediately close the gas supply to the unit.
•
Contact a service technician
Unit does not ignite after several
spark attempts
•
Check that gas supply is open.
•
Ensure that gas supply line has been purged from air in line.
•
If problem persist, contact service technician.
No spark is generated when unit is
switched ON.
•
Ensure that the igniter cable is connected tightly to the pilot burner
•
Ensure that the igniter cable does not make contact with metal
surfaces. This could lead to a spark at a wrong point.
Flame does not travel to either end
of the burner tray.
•
Check that the DYNAMIC gas supply pressure is correct, while the
burner is operating.
•
Check that the granular vermiculite is not compressed in lumps that
do not allow flame travel. Loosen vermiculite and replace.
Flame is weak or;
Very high flame
•
Check that the DYNAMIC gas supply pressure is correct, while the
burner is operating.
Pilot switching off during operation
(The main burner will also be
extinguished)
•
Immediately close main gas supply and turn control knob to the off
position.
•
Immediately open doors and windows to allow fresh air into the
room.
•
Before re-igniting verify that all permanent ventilation openings in the
room is open and free from obstruction.
•
If problem persist, do not use, and contact a service technician.
The unit burns back.
(The flame burns at the bottom of
the tray. The flame will typically
make an audible noise)
•
Immediately close main gas supply and turn control knob to the off
position.
•
Allow 5min for gas to dissipate and ignite again.
•
If problem persist, remove all vermiculite, glass & pebbles, and re
pack as described in this manual.
•
If problem persist, contact service technician.
WARRANTEE
Jetmaster warrants that the burner and controls will be free from defects in workmanship or materials under normal
use and service for a period of one year from the invoiced date of purchase.
Jetmaster warrants that the firebox will be free from defects in workmanship or materials under normal use and
service for a period of ten years from the invoiced date of purchase.
This warranty is only effective if:
•
At the time of the claim the then owner of the Burner or firebox produces documentary evidence to prove
the date of purchase e.g. The original or a true copy of the invoice.
•
The warranty card was fully completed and returned to Jetmaster by mail or by fax within 30 days of
purchase.
•
A registered installer installed the Burner.
•
No unauthorised adjustments have been made to the burner.
•
The installation, operation and maintenance of the Burner or firebox was, in the opinion of Jetmaster,
carried out in accordance with the installation and Operating Instructions current at the time of purchase.
When a valid claim arises under this warranty, Jetmaster will, at its sole option, either repair or replace the Burner
or firebox
Under no circumstances will Jetmaster be liable for any consequential loss or damage or injury arising out of, or in
connection with the use or operation of the Burner or firebox, resulting from the failure to follow the Installation and
Operating Instructions, or from a breach of the Warranty conditions.
