Glossary
Baud rate
Unit of measure for the transmission rate of data in serial interfaces. Th e baud
rate indicates the number of possible changes of state of the transmitted signal
per second (1 baud = 1 state change/s). Th e baud rate can be lower than the
bit rate (one bit is coded in several signal states). „Baud rate“ in this document
refers to signals in which one bit is defi ned with the two signal states HIGH and
LOW. In this case the bit rate equals the baud rate.
