Another adjustment some speed controls offer is an initial brake setting (see speed control
manual). This setting determines the minimum braking power the speed control applies when the
driver initially applies the brake. This is a helpful adjustment for most track conditions. Reducing
the initial brake makes the car more predictable, but less responsive.
Battery Pack Assembly:
Here is the preferred way to assemble battery packs for the BJ4 Worlds Edition. Solder the
individual cell connections as shown. Team racers prefer battery bars for sturdier connections.
Use a six inch long piece of 12-gauge wire for the jumper between each three-cell pack.
Motor Gearing:
To get the most from your motor, proper gearing is important. You can calculate the final drive
ratio by using the following formula:
