NAT
JCG AC836 router comes with NAT (Network Address Translation) capabilities which enables
the router to protect your local network by hiding IP addresses of all connected devices and
condensing all devices within your local network into the same public IP address. Occasionally,
however, it can cause issues when an external host tries to initiatively communicate with a
specified device on the local network. Utilizing the forwarding feature can fix these problems
and allow all your devices to connect freely to the Internet, thus realizing some special
functions.
JCG routers support 4 forwarding rules.
Choose menu

Single Port Forwarding
Sometimes you will have to manually configure forwarding rules of the router to allow certain
devices (such as Xbox
®
or Nintendo
®
gaming consoles) to connect to your local network.
Single Port Forwarding
allows only 1 port for forwarding. If you want to forward multiple
ports, see instructions for setting up
Multi. Port Forwarding.
Before setting up
Single Port Forwarding,
you need to have the following:
Starting port and ending port required for the device
The ports vary according to the type of Internet service. Refer to your documentation
or contact your console's manufacturer for details.
Assign a static IP address for your device
Single Port Forwarding needs to be routed to a specific IP Address, you will need to
