mounted and ensure the retention of the guide bar
and chain in this horizontal position.
Mount casing (4). •
Tighten safety nut (5). •
Tighten saw chain (6) (see “Tightening the •
chain”).
Tightening the Chain
The tension of the saw chain should be checked
before a job is started, after the first cuts and
regularly throughout the work (every 10 minutes).
Once a new chain has been mounted one should
reckon on a higher tension when it is first used.
The working lifespan of a chain decisively depends
on its adequate lubrication and correct tension.
Place the machine on a level surface. •
Release anchor nut •
(5) rotating it
approximately 1-2 times
anticlockwise.
Turn chain tension •
bolt (18) using a spanner
(16) clockwise until the
correct chain tension is achieved. After this, guide
bar (7) is moved using chain tension pin (20).
Chain (6) is correctly tensioned if •
it can be, lifted up in the middle by
approximately 3-4 mm.
If saw chain (6) is overtensioned, •
turn chain tension bolt (18)
anticlockwise. After this it may be
necessary to readjust the chain
tension as described above.
Securely tighten anchor nut (5) using a spanner. •
Ensure the correct placement of the teeth of the •
chain in the groove of guide bar (7).
Lubricating the Chain
The machine is supplied with an empty
adhesive oil reservoir. Before use the
reservoir should be filled with oil. Using
the machine without adhesive oil or
with an oil level below the recommended
minimum will damage the machine.
The working lifespan of the chain and cutting
productivity depend on optimum lubrication. For
this reason, the machine automatically oils the chain
with adhesive oil through oil jet (21) during use.
Filling the Oil Reservoir:
Place the machine on an appropriate base with •
oil tank cap (14) at the top.
Clean the area around oil tank cap (14) with a •
cloth and remove the cap.
Fill the oil reservoir with biodegradable adhesive •
oil for chain saws.
Be careful to not allow any dirt to fall into the oil •
reservoir. Replace oil tank cap (14).
To avoid damaging the machine, use only the
recommended biologically degradable adhesive
oil. Under no circumstances should reclaimed
or used oil be used. The use of unauthorized oil
forfeits the right to present guarantee claims.
Initial operating
Switching on:
To switch the machine on, keep the lock-off button
(11) depressed and press the on/off switch (12).
Switching off.
To switch the machine off, release the on/off switch
(12).
Operating instructions
Chain Brake
The chain brake is a safety mechanism that intervenes
on machine shock via chain brake initiator (9). The
chain stops in a maximum of 0.3 seconds.
An operational test should be carried out from •
time to time. To do this turn chain brake initiator (9)
to position 2 and turn on the machine temporarily.
The machine should not start. To release chain brake
turn chain brake initiator (9) towards your body in
position 1 .
