2.6.7.1 Reclining rotary chair
VisualEyes™ 515 and VisualEyes™ 525 can be used with the reclining rotary chairs. The system supports
the Orion Reclining, Nydiag200, and System 2000 Reclining. The reclining rotary chair allows for sinusoidal
harmonic acceleration (SHA) and velocity step testing. The reclining rotary chair can also be used as the
exam table for positional and caloric testing. The backrest can be reclined to 30
°
from horizontal for caloric
irrigations. Positional tests can be performed with the backrest reclined to 0
°
horizontal. For Dix-Hallpike
tests, the headrest can be removed on the System 2000 and Orion Reclining to bring the head below the
frame. When a top-mounted goggle is used, the velcro straps on the headrest (located on the back of the
System 2000 and Orion Reclining chairs) can help to stabilize the patient's head by attaching to the goggle
strap on the top-mounted MMT goggle.

Reclining chair configuration
The VNG goggles can be connected directly to the reclining rotational chair. FireWire® cards are used with
FireWire® side mounted and FireWire® top mounted camera goggles and with the System 2000 Reclining
and Nydiag 200 chairs. Connect the power supply connector from the laptop PC Express card to power
mains when used with laptops. If the card must be removed later, the computer must be turned off before
removing the card. The TV stimulus will connect via a HDMI cable to the back of the computer (which may
require an adapter cable). Laptop configurations will use a USB hub to connect to devices which use an
external power adapter and connect to the back of the laptop, though the USB cable from the chair will
connect directly to the computer (not through the USB hub if present). If a DataLink is connected to the
system, it must be connected to a USB port on the externally powered USB hub or directly on the computer.
NOTICE The DataLink cannot be used for rotary chair tests with the reclining chairs.
