Hot-swap PCI Slots
The five hot-plug PCI slots each have power and attention LEDs. The Attention button is used to
invoke a hot-plug sequence to remove or add an adapter without having to use the software
interface. They are located by the green arrow on the PCI divider label. The status of the LEDs is
shown in Table 2 and Table 3.

Power OFF: All main rails have been removed from slot. Card can be
inserted or removed.

Power ON: Slot is powered on. Card cannot be inserted or removed.
Blinking
Power Transition: Slot is in the process of powering up or down. Card
cannot be inserted or removed.

Locate: Slot is being identified at the user’s request.
NOTE
If you hot-remove a PCI card without following the proper procedure, power
will automatically be turned off to the slot.
