Serial Port
The main board provides a rear panel DB9 serial port.
The COM serial port can be used either as an EMP or as a serial port. As an EMP, the connector is
used by the server management RS-232 connection to the Intel® Management Module. This
provides the ability to perform emergency management through an external modem. The RS-232
connection can be monitored by the BMC when the system is in a powered down (standby) state.
