Prerequisite knowledge
This User Guide is intended for personnel authorized to configure and
manage local area networks. It is assumed that the person has an ad-
vanced technical background within data communication and net-
works.
Opening this product must only be done by a network manager or per-
son who is qualified and authorized to install electrical equipment,
and who is aware of the hazards to which he/she is exposed. This per-
son must have an advanced technical background within data com-
munications and networks.
Conventions in this manual
The following conventions are used in this manual:
Filenames, commands and examples
All file names, commands and examples are shown in the
COURIER
typeface.
Menu and submenu names
Menus, for example File or View, are shown in normal typeface with
lower case and upper case letters displayed as shown on the screen.
