By default,
cdplayer
accesses the CD-ROM drive with the lowest drive
letter. If your system has more than one CD-ROM drive and the one with
the lowest drive letter is not the one you want
cdplayer
to access, you
can use a command line option to direct it to another drive.
For
example, if you have two CD-ROM drives assigned to drive letters
E
and
F
, and you want to play an audio CD in drive
F
, simply
start the
program with this command line:
CDPLAYER /F:
You can type the command in uppercase or lowercase letters. Be sure
to
include the colon after the drive letter.
Running cdplayer
To
start
cdplayer,
change to the directory where
cdplayer.exe
and
cdplayer.fon
are located (c:\adaptec is the default) and enter
CDPLAYER.
If there is no CD in the drive when you start the program, the message
No CD!
appears in the time display area. If a command to the drive fails,
the message
Drive Fault!
appears in the time display area. As you
select each function, the Status indicator shows the current disc status.
Whenever you insert a new CD in the drive, the program displays the
CD's total track count and run time.
The
cdplayer
screen simulates the control panel of a CD player. You
select functions either by clicking the mouse on the appropriate control,
or by pressing the Hot Key letter for that function (for example,
P
or
p
to
play and
Q
or
q
to quit the program). The Hot Key letter is highlighted in
white on each button. When you select a
button, the icon inside it is
displayed in yellow until you select another butt on.
cdplayer Functions
Here are brief explanations of each
cdplayer
function.

Stop -
Stops the CD from playing. The track will be displayed at its
00:00 Elapsed Track Time.
·
Play -
Starts play operation at the current displayed track. If a CD is
already playing, audio playing continues.
