Running afdisk
Before you start
afdisk,
be sure the disk devices you want to format or
partition are physically connected to your PC and are powered. If you
intend to format a removable fixed disk, make sure there is removable
media in the device before running
afdisk.
You can view on-line help information for any
afdisk
screen by pressing
F1
. Press
Esc
to exit the Help screens.
To run
afdisk
change to the directory where
afdisk.exe
is located (the
default directory is
C:Iadaptec)
and enter afdisk to start the program.
Viewing Device Information with showscsi
showscsi
is a useful Windows utility that allows you to view information
about all the SCSI devices installed on your system. This utility is copied
to your PCs fixed disk when you run the DOS/WINDOWS DRIVERS
Install
program.
Installing showscsi
The most convenient way to use
showscsi
is to install it as an icon in
Windows. Then you can double-click it at any time to view SCSI device
information. Follow these steps to install
showscsi:
1.
Select
Install ASPI for Windows
when you run the
DOS/WINDOWS DRIVERS program.
2.
Start Windows and select the program group to which you want to
add the
showscsi
utility
.
3.
Select
File/New
. When the
New Program Object
window
appears, click on OK to add a new program item.
4.
When the
Program Item Properties
window appears, click on
Browse
and change to the directory where the DOS/WINDOWS
DRIVERS files were copied (the default is
c:ladaptec.)
