OPERATION
POWER OUTAGE RESTART OPTION
For customers that have i nterrupt i ons i n the i r i ncom i ng power supply
to the compressor and must ma i nta i n an un i nterrupted supply of
compressed a i r, the Power Outage Restart Opt i on allows an Intell i sys
compressor to restart automat i cally 10–120 seconds (ad j ustable) after
i ncom i ng power i s restored .
The Power Outage Restart Opt i on i s turned on by us i ng the customer
set rout i ne on the Intell i sys controller . The restart t i me delay, wh i ch
i s ad j ustable from 10–120 seconds, can also be ad j usted wh i le i n the
set rout i ne on the Intell i sys controller . Any t i me power i s restored to
the compressor after a power i nterrupt i on and i f the compressor was
runn i ng when power was lost, a horn located on the s i de of the starter
box w i ll sound dur i ng the restart t i me delay (10–120 seconds), after
wh i ch the compressor w i ll automat i cally start . After start i ng, the
compressor w i ll return to the mode of operat i on that the compressor
was i n pr i or to the power i nterrupt i on .
To operate i n the power outage restart mode, proceed w i th
follow i ng steps :
1 . Power up the un i t and wa i t for the Intell i sys d i splay to read READY
TO START .
2 . Press the SET button once to enter the customer set po i nt
rout i ne . The Set Offl i ne A i r Pressure i nd i cator w i ll l i ght and the
d i splay w i ll show the set po i nt pressure .
3 . Press and release the SET button mult i ple t i mes unt i l the message
PWR OUT RSTR OFF i s d i splayed .
4 . Push the up or down arrows to change to the des i red cond i t i on . ON
i n the d i splay i nd i cates Power Outage Restart i s turned on and OFF i n
the d i splay i nd i cates Power Outage Restart i s turned off .
5 . Once the select i on has been made, press SET button to put the
select i on i nto Intell i sys memory . The d i splay w i ll flash tw i ce and the
message w i ll change to STR DELAY 10 Sec i f the opt i on was turned
on . Th i s message w i ll only d i splay i f the Power Outage Restart Opt i on
i s turned on .
6 . Use the up or down arrows to select the des i red delay t i me (10–120
sec . ) .
7 . Press SET and the d i splay w i ll flash tw i ce i nd i cat i ng the change has
been made .
8 . Push the DISPLAY SELECT BUTTON or wa i t 30 seconds for the
controller to automat i cally ex i t the set rout i ne . The d i splay returns to
READY TO START .
Funct i on test
To test the operat i on of the Power Outage Restart Opt i on :
1 . Slowly open the ma i n i solat i on valve .
2 . Push the green START button on the Intell i sys d i splay to start the
compressor .
3 . The compressor w i ll load automat i cally i f there i s a suff i c i ent
demand for a i r . Allow the compressor to load .
4 . Open the ma i n d i sconnect to remove power from the compressor .
5 . Close the ma i n d i sconnect to reapply power to the compressor . The
horn w i ll sound and the Intell i sys d i splay w i ll read START IN
___SEC . The d i splay w i ll count down the t i me unt i l the compressor
starts automat i cally and the horn stops . After start i ng, the compressor
w i ll automat i cally return to the same mode of operat i on as pr i or to the
power i nterrupt i on .
Fault Analys i s
1 . If the Intell i sys d i splay i nd i cates the count down message and the
horn does not sound, check the w i r i ng of the horn .
2 . If the Intell i sys d i splay does not i nd i cate the count down message,
the horn does not sound and the un i t does not restart automat i cally,
ver i fy that the Opt i on has been turned on .
