Remove and replace the elevator assembly
The elevator assembly is comprised of the
elevator shaft
(505-0878-xx), the
elevator lever
(340-0822-
xx), and the
elevator spring
(321-0170-xx), which attaches to the elevator lever. The elevator housing is
molded into the bottom case. Except for the housing, each part can be replaced separately.
Adjacent to the elevator is the
light block louver
(340-0876-xx), which prevents light leakage through a
vent in the side of the bottom case. The
engine mount spacer
(340-0837-xx) fastens to the bottom case
over the light block louver. The optical engine, in turn fastens to the spacer.

Remove the chassis and power supply (page 39) and the optical engine (page 60).

Remove the M3x8 Plastite Torx screw that fastens the engine mount spacer to the bottom case,
then lift the spacer out of the case.

Lift the light block louver out of the bottom case.
