Control Center requires that the IP address for a device in a site remains fixed. If the DHCP
server has been configured to lease addresses from an address pool, rather than based on
MAC address, the device will not work correctly with Control Center.
Host Name
— Enter a name to identify this device. This name appears at the top of all the
web configuration pages and the on screen display.
The name can only contain alphanumerical characters and hyphens.
Location
— Enter a location to identify this device. This location appears at the top of all web
pages.
The location can only contain alphanumerical characters and hyphens.
IP Address
— Enter the IP address of the device.
Subnet Mask
— Enter the IP network subnet mask.
Gateway
— If required, enter an appropriate router IP address as the default gateway for
remote network access.
DNS Source
— Select to use the
DHCP
DNS server and domain, or select
Manual
to
specify a DNS server and domain.
DNS Server 1 & 2
— (optional) Enter the IP address of a primary (
1
) and secondary (
2
)
DNS server if required.
DNS Domain
— (optional) Specify the DNS domain the device will use.
Broadcast Address
— Broadcast addresses are calculated automatically using your IP
address and subnet mask to locate and access IndigoVision devices within a given range of
network IP addresses. This value is read-only.
NTP Server Address
— The network address of a Network Time Server, if used. If this is
not automatically assigned using DHCP, you can configure it manually on the Date/Time
menu. This value is read-only here.
Ethernet Interface
— Select the appropriate Ethernet interface for the switch or network hub
you are connected to. If you select Auto-negotiate, ensure that your switch supports this.
Date & Time
Use this menu to select the source for date and time information for the device.
Time Source
— Select one of the following. It is strongly recommended to use NTP where
available:
•
DHCP NTP
— Select this option to use an NTP server specified via DHCP. The date
and time are updated automatically; this may take several minutes.
This option is only available if you have selected
DHCP
on the
Network
page.
•
Network Time Protocol
— Select this option to specify an NTP server. The NTP
server must be on a network accessible by the device. The date and time are updated
automatically; this may take several minutes.
•
Hardware Clock
— Select this option to use the clock embedded in the device. Enter
the current day, month, year, and time.
Server
— Enter the address of the NTP server.
Enter either the IP address of the server or DNS name if a DNS server has been specified on
the
Network
page, for example, ntp.mydomain.com.
