〈Adjusting the grass cutting position (offset movement system)〉
!
In order to mow greens according to your preference, it is
necessary to adjust the grass clipping position. Cut some
sections first and make adjustments as necessary.
*Make adjustments only if you are not satisfied with the
grass clipping results.
!
Adjustments will result in changes to the way the grass is
cut.
1. Tilt the mower back on a level surface until the stand is on
the ground so that the mower does not move.
!
Place a weight on the handle to prevent the mower from
falling forward.
2. Loosen and remove the two M8 bolts on the cutter cover,
and then remove it along with the front cover.
3. Loosen and remove the four M6 bolts on the belt cover,
and then remove belt cover.
4. Remove the belt holder.
5. Loosen the four M8 bolts on the left cutter metal : OUT,
and then remove the positioning M5 screws.
They are located in position "8" when shipped from the
factory.)
6. Remove the rubber cap (thatching gear box) on the right
side of the frame, loosen the four M8 bolts (hexagonal
socket bolts) on the right cutter metal : OUT, and then re-
move the positioning M5 screws.
They are located in position "8" when shipped from the
factory.)
!
The remaining three M8 bolts (with flush heads) are for cen-
tering the blades. When the mower is shipped from the fac-
tory, these bolts have been fixed so that the rear roller and
the blades are parallel. Do not loosen these bolts.
7. If you move the lower blade adjustment handles on the left
and right sides, the grass cutting position (position of
alignment between the blades and the lower blade)
changes around the blade axle.
!
See "Effects of blade position on grass" on page 47.
8. For installing the cutter metals, tighten the positioning M5
screws, and then tighten the four M8 bolts (hexagonal
socket bolts first) to affix the left cutter metal : OUT. Re-
peat the same process for the right one.
Warning
!
Be sure to stop the engine and disengage the
main clutch and blade clutch.
