To remove the DVD-ROM
Loosen the thumbscrew.
Push the optical disc drive cage (ODD cage) out of the chassis.

Lift the locking tab on the side.
Carefully push the DVD-ROM assembly out of the ODD cage.

Lift the DVD-ROM from the DVD-ROM tray.
Remove the DVD-ROM along the direction of the arrow.
