serial port connector on the NOVA-GM45A. Follow the steps below to connect the serial 

port connector cable. 

Step 1: 

Locate the serial port connector

. The location of the RS-232/422/485 serial 

port connector is shown in 

Chapter 3

. 

Step 2: 

Align the connectors.

 Correctly align pin 1 on the cable connector with pin 1 on 

the NOVA-GM45A serial port connector. 

Step 3: 

Insert the cable connectors

. 

Once the cable connector is properly aligned with 

the serial port connector on the NOVA-GM45A, connect the cable connector to 

the on-board connector.

Step 4: 

Secure the bracket

. The dual RS-232 connector has two D-sub 9 male 

connectors secured on a bracket. To secure the bracket to the chassis please 

refer to the reference material that came with the chassis.

4.9.7 SATA Drive Connection 

The NOVA-GM45A is shipped with two SATA drive cables and one SATA drive power 

cable. To connect the SATA drives to the connectors, please follow the steps below.
