5.6.5 Dual RS-422/485 Cables

The IMBA-8654 is shipped with one dual serial port connector cable. The dual serial port

connector cable connects the serial port connectors on the cable to the RS-422/485 serial

port connectors on the IMBA-8654. Follow the steps below to connect the dual serial port

connector cable.

Step 1:

Locate the serial port connector

. The location of the RS-422/485 serial port

connector is shown in

Chapter 3

Step 2:

Align the connectors

. Correctly align pin 1 on the cable connector with pin 1 on

the IMBA-8654 COM3 serial port connector.

Step 3:

Insert the cable connectors

Once the cable connector is properly aligned with

the COM3 serial port connector on the IMBA-8654, connect the cable connector

to the onboard connectors. See

Figure 5-13
