Data Cable Length Measurement
• On this tester, M12 is default, when it is selected a 5-second instant message
“select for pair#” appears on the screen; use SELECT key to scroll through
1-2,3-4, auto and select a pair to measure. (see screen #L-3)
• M12>RJ-45 comes next, when this data mode is selected, use SELECT key to
scroll through 12, 36 or auto to select a pair to measure length.
• When RJ-45 is selected a 5 second instant message “select for pair#” appears
on the screen; use SELECT key to scroll through 1-2,3-6,4-5,7-8, auto to select
a pair to measure length. (see screen #L-4 #L-5)
• The IENet™ PRO is default to test 1-2 pair when entering into length measure
mode; and if there is an error or a fault detected (see Screen #L-6) it will auto-
matically switch to a second pair to carry on the testing.
• Change length constant by means of Up and Down arrow keys, CAL icon is
on when adjusting the constant and goes off when setting is done (see screen
#L-7).
• Exit to SETUP mode to change unit of length from ft to meter.
Coax Cable Length Measurement
• Connect cable to the Main unit by using an Adapter (when measuring coax
cable length, no Remote Terminator is required). Press any key to turn on the
Tester, press MODE, scroll through and select LENGTH mode, press SELECT
key to enter (see Screen #L-1)
•
When measuring length of a coaxial cable, no remote is required;
1-2 is default pair and must be used for coax length measure.
• Use Up and Down arrow keys to select Coax(RJ45) as type of cable to test (see
screen #L-10), press SELECT key to proceed with cable length measurement
• Change length constant by means of Up and Down arrow keys, CAL icon is on
when adjusting the constant and goes off when done. (See screen #L-11)
• To change unit of measurement from ft to meter, use SETUP mode. (see screen
#S-7 at SETUP mode)
If the far end of the cable is connected to a Network Device (Hub, Switch, etc.), the
tester will display “T Ring Network?” (mostly on unknown devices), or “XBase-T
Network?” (when connected to a HUB) or “Network?” (when connected to a
Switch). See screens #L-12 to #L-14.
