To
remove
the
power
supply,
complete
the
following
steps.
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
and
2.
Turn
off
the
server
and
all
peripheral
devices;
then,
disconnect
the
power
cords
and
all
external
cables.
3.
Remove
the
cover
(see
Note:
It
might
be
helpful
to
lay
the
computer
on
its
right
side
for
the
remainder
of
this
procedure.
4.
Disconnect
the
cables
from
the
power
supply
to
the
system
board
and
all
internal
components.
5.
To
provide
extra
space
for
the
power
supply
removal,
use
the
following
procedure:
v
Slide
the
drives
in
bay
1
and
bay
2
(if
any
are
installed)
forward
slightly
(see
for
more
information).
It
is
not
necessary
to
remove
these
drives.
v
Remove
the
microprocessor
fan
sink
(see
It
is
not
necessary
to
remove
the
microprocessor.
v
Remove
any
DIMMs
in
DIMM
slots
3
and
4
(see
6.
Remove
the
four
screws
that
secure
the
power
supply
to
the
chassis.
7.
Slide
the
power
supply
toward
the
front
of
the
chassis
until
it
clears
the
mounting
bracket;
then,
tilt
the
power
supply
toward
the
system
board
and
carefully
pull
it
out
of
the
server.
8.
If
you
are
instructed
to
return
the
power
supply,
follow
all
packaging
instructions,
and
use
any
packaging
materials
for
shipping
that
are
supplied
to
you.
