Removing
an
adapter
To
remove
an
adapter,
complete
the
following
steps.
Expansion-slot
screw
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
and
2.
Turn
off
the
server
and
all
peripheral
devices;
then,
disconnect
the
power
cords
and
all
external
cables.
3.
Disconnect
any
cables
from
the
adapter.
4.
Remove
the
cover
(see
Note:
It
might
be
helpful
to
lay
the
computer
on
its
right
side
for
the
remainder
of
this
procedure.
5.
Remove
the
expansion-slot
screw
for
the
adapter
to
be
removed.
6.
Carefully
grasp
the
adapter
by
its
top
edge
or
upper
corners,
and
pull
the
adapter
from
the
server.
7.
If
the
server
will
be
used
before
a
replacement
adapter
is
installed,
install
an
expansion-slot
cover
in
the
slot.
Note:
Expansion-slot
covers
must
be
installed
on
all
vacant
slots.
This
maintains
the
electronic
emissions
standards
of
the
server
and
ensures
proper
ventilation
of
server
components.
8.
If
you
are
instructed
to
return
the
adapter,
follow
all
packaging
instructions,
and
use
any
packaging
materials
for
shipping
that
are
supplied
to
you.
9.
If
you
are
not
returning
the
adapter,
store
it
in
a
safe
place
for
reuse.
