a) Using a flat screwdriver, loosen the two screws (A) at the front of the drive tray.
b) Using your fingers, loosen the two screws (B) at the middle of the drive tray. If needed, you can
use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws.
c) Lift the drive tray out of the system.
d) Place the drive tray on an approriate ESD surface.
e) Repeat steps “15.a” on page 43 through “15.d” on page 43 for the other drive tray.
16. Remove the front drives enough to prevent them from interfering with the removal of the drive
backplane:
a) Unplug but do not remove the front drives from their slots. Unlock the drive handle (B) by pressing
the handle release latch (A) in the direction that is shown, and pulling out the handle toward you.
If the handle is not all the way out, the drive cannot slide out of the system.
