c) Place the NVMe M.2 carrier card on an appropriate ESD surface.
d) If a second NVMe M.2 carrier card is present, repeat steps “10.a” on page 26 through “10.c” on
page 27.
11. Remove the NVMe U.2 pass-thru cards, if present. Otherwise, continue with the next step.
a) Label the NVMe cables and how they connect between the NVMe drive backplane and the NVMe
U.2 pass-thru cards. Record how the plugs and jacks are connected. Disconnect the NVMe cables
from the NVMe drive backplane by pressing the cable latch and unplugging the cable as shown in
the following figure.
