Baluns
Baluns come in the following styles:
Twinax to UTP
Twinax to FTP
Twinax to UTP, self terminating
DB15 to UTP
Figure 2-5 shows a twinax-to-UTP balun. This type of balun is used for most
devices. For example, this type of balun is used for:
AS/400, System/38, and System/36 hosts
5494, 5394, and 5294 remote control units
Devices with two twinax connectors
Auto-terminating devices that have T or Y cables

Figure 2-6 shows a self-terminating twinax-to-UTP balun. This type of balun is
used for devices with one twinax connector that require external termination. For
example, this type of balun is used for the following IBM displays:
