STEP 18: COMMISSIONING THE LIFT
Perform the following steps after the lift has been installed, WITHOUT a vessel on the hoist.
1.
Raise the hoist until all main tanks are bubbling air. Stop the hoist.
2.
Verify the frame is out of the water and the walkways are parallel to the surface of the water.
3.
If the hoist does not raise level, lower the lift completely and do calibration in the fully down
position. Then raise and recalibrate.
4.
If the sensor is extremely out of calibration, you may need to use the Express Lowering function to
bring the hoist down. See the Operation Manual for details.
The Express Lowering function overrides the level sensor Safety Shut Down mode and should
be monitored constantly so it can be stopped manually. See Operation Manual for details.
5. Calibrate the level sensor by pushing and holding the
UP
and
DOWN
buttons simultaneously until the
port and starboard LEDs flash simultaneously 5 times.
6. Lower and raise the hoist once more to verify level operation.
7. While the hoist is completely up, verify with soapy water that there are no leaks at any connection in
the air system.
8. While in operation, inspect the lift for binding of ropes or mooring systems. Resolve any issues.
9. See the Operations Manual for information on loading the Vessel.
If the level sensor loses communication with the controller, the middle port and starboard LEDs will
flash rapidly. Contact your local dealer or HarborHoist customer service support for assistance.
