Preparing installation/preparing tank
Prepare the tank according to the following steps:
- Dimension the tank with sufficient size to allow the OXS-LID to be fully
integrated and to avoid dead spaces as much as possible.
- Ensure that the respective tank securing measures are in place when
using hydraulic accumulators in the overall hydraulic system.
- The tank and all connection elements that are connected to the insides of
the tank (such as sleeves, etc.) must be welded air-tight.
- Check the threads of threaded bolts. They must be free from paint.
- Check that the tank is leak-tight before paint is applied.
- To protect the diaphragm from damage/leaks, do not perform any welding
work or any other work in the vicinity of the diaphragm.
- Keep an area facing upwards of at least 1.5 m above the unit
unobstructed for repair and maintenance purposes. It must also be
possible to access the individual components for repair and maintenance
purposes.
- Observe the permissible ambient temperature on the name plate of the
unit.
- Make sure there is sufficient ventilation around the area where the unit is
set up.
- Connect all electric components in accordance with the applicable
operating instructions.
- Check the sealing surface between the tank and the OXS-LID.
The sealing surface must be fully even and free from any treatment
residue, damage and contaminations.
- Apply a thin, even layer of the supplied HYLOMAR M sealant compound
around the sealing surface on the tank.
Observe the bleed time in accordance with the operating instructions.
- Place the supplied flat gasket on the installation surface of the tank that
has been correspondingly prepared with the sealing compound.
- Apply a thin, even layer of the supplied HYLOMAR M sealant compound
on the upper side of the gasket.
Observe the bleed time in accordance with the operating instructions
- Place the OXS-LID on the seal in the corresponding tank opening.
- Screw the OXS-LID to the tank. Observe the nominal torque and the
tightening sequence on page 33.
- Optional: Connect the valve block to the tank's fluid level display. For
details, refer to chapter "Installing the fluid level display" on page 36.
