Call Time-out

The call time-out feature is used to limit the duration of calls, which can be set between one minute and 2
hours, 46 minutes, 20 seconds.  The time limit is set by entering a number from 6 to 998.

This number represents the number of ten-second increments of duration.  Entering 999 disables the call
time-out feature (no time limit).  Disabling the call time out feature is not recommended.  The phone
could stay in the connected state indefinitely, preventing automatic maintenance calls from reaching the
phone.

Enter

*50<6~999>#

to assign a time limit, or change an existing time limit.

*50

Data transfer command

<6~999>

Call duration (60–9980 seconds, 999 disabled) – See example below.

#

End of string indicator

Multiply the desired time limit, in minutes, by 6 to determine the call duration.
Example: For a call duration of 5 minutes

5 minutes

×

 6 =

30

See equation below for the explanation:

5 min x 60 sec

10 sec

= 30

Therefore, you would enter the character string

*5030#

, and the phone returns a system-generated check-

digit.

Line Ring Detection

S.M.A.R.T. Phones can be programmed to ring up to 15 times prior to auto-answering.  Select the code
corresponding to the desired ring sequence from the table at right.

Enter

*70<0~15>#

to enter or change the number of rings before auto-answer.

*70

Data transfer command

<0~15>

Line ring detection code (0–15)

#

End of string indicator

The phone returns a system-generated check-digit.
