9.3 Removing Dust from the Optical Interface and Tail
Fiber Connector
After the device runs for a period of time, you need to remove the dust from the optical
interface and tail fiber connector.
9.3.1 Precautions
The laser transmitted by the laser device on the optical interface board is invisible infrared.
Do not look directly into the laser. Otherwise, the laser may injure the eyes permanently.
When operating with the optical connectors of the tail fiber and optical interface board, you
are recommended to wear protective glasses to filter the infrared and to prevent the injury to
the eyes by the invisible infrared during the operation process. If you are not wearing
protective glasses, you should not look directly into the laser transmitting port on the optical
interface board and the optical fiber connector.
If the optical connector of the board or the tail fiber is not used, ensure that it is covered by
the protective cap. If the optical connector is in use, when removing the tail fiber from the
connector, you should use the protective cap to cover the optical interface and the tail fiber
connector connected to the optical interface.
If you adhere to these instructions, it will:
Prevent injury to the eyes caused by the invisible laser sent by the laser device.
Prevent loss of the optical interface and the tail fiber connector that is caused due to the
dust.
Do not use tools or materials that are not proved to be suitable for the cleaning of the optical
connector and the optical interface of the laser device on the optical interface board. Use of
such tools and materials for cleaning the optical connector and the optical interface can
damage the optical interface and the optical connector.
