8.7.6 Connecting Interface Cable
Step 1: Connect the 8AS and 16AS interface cable:
z
For the 8-port asynchronous serial interface cable, connect its 68-pin male
connector to the 68-pin female interface. The eight DB-25 connectors or DB-9
connectors of the cable can be respectively connected to different network ports.

For the 16-port asynchronous serial interface cable, connect its 200-pin male
connector to the 200-pin female interface. The sixteen DB-25 connectors or DB-
9 connector of the cable can be respectively connected to different network ports.
Step 2: Screw up the knob to fix the 8AS/16AS interface cable to the DB-68 interface
(8AS) or DB-200 interface (16AS).
Step 3: Power on the system and check the status of READY indicator on the front
panel of the router. It is on when the module has completed self-check and works
normally. It is off when the module fails to pass the self-check. In this case, please
contact the local agent of Huawei.
Step 4: Power on the system and check the states of the indicators on the front panels
of 8AS and 16AS:
