Under the “FTP>” prompt, enter <get>

Under the “local file” prompt, enter the name of the configuration file to be
downloaded.

Under the “remote file” prompt, enter the name of the downloaded configuration
file to be saved at the router end. This name must be configured at the router end
before the uploading, with a default name as CONFIG.
z
When file downloading is completed, the “
FTP
>” prompt is displayed again. Enter
quit
to exit the client program.
V. Downloading program file
Configure the Ethernet interface address of the router so as to connect the host running
the FTP client program to the router.
Log in the FTP server with the username and password already set in the router. Now
let us take the FTP client program provided by Windows 98 as an example:

Under the DOS prompt, enter <
FTP
A.B.C.D> (A.B.C.D is the IP address of the
Ethernet interface on the router).
z
Under the “username” prompt, enter the username <ftp>.
z
Under the “password” prompt, enter the password <123>. After the authentication,
the user login is successful, showing the FTP client prompt “
FTP
>”.
z
Under the “
FTP
>” prompt, enter <get> under the prompt.
z
Under the “local file” prompt, enter the name of the program file to be downloaded.
z
Under the “remote file” prompt, enter the name of the downloaded program file to
be saved at the router end. This name must be configured at the router end before
the uploading, with a default name as SYSTEM.

When file downloading is completed, the “
FTP
>” prompt is displayed again. Enter
<quit> to exit the client program.
6.1.5 Password Lost
If you have lost the BOOTROM password or privileged user password for accessing
the router, please contact the technical support personnel of Huawei.
6.2 Hardware Maintenance
Caution:
Before this operation, switch off the power to channel ESD voltages; otherwise, the operator may be prone
to electric shock.
R2600/3600 series have the following storage media:
z
DRAM or SDRAM (dynamic DRAM): used to run the programs of the router.
z
Flash: used to store program and configuration files of the router
z
NVRAM: also used to store configuration files of the router (except R2620/2621).
z
BOOTROM: used to store starter and initializer of the router.
Hardware maintenance of R2600/3600 series mainly involve the replacement of DRAM
or SDRAM, and BOOTROM, install and uninstall of the interface unit of the router’s
function modules.
