The memory bank can be replaced in the same way as BOOTROM is, by following the
flow shown below:
Open the chassis
Verify the position of
SIMM or BOOTROM
Remove the SIMM
or BOOTROM
Install new SIMM
or BOOTROM
Close the chassis
Preparation and verification
Start router hardware maintenance
Complete hardware

Caution:
1) Please do not replace the hardware of the router at will. If necessary, replace the hardware under the
guidance of the technical support engineer.
2) There is a seal of Huawei on a screw in the cover of R2600/3600 series. The seal shall not be opened
before the maintenance of the router. So first contact the local agent of Huawei for permission before
opening the cover of the router, or perform operations according to the relevant regulation of the local
agent. Otherwise, you shall be responsible for any unmaintainability arising from operations not permitted.
