Adjusting input settings
1. On the onscreen keyboard, do one of the following:
Press and hold , , or until you see , and then release your finger.
Tap .
The key you will see depends on the keyboard layout that is currently selected.
2. On the Input method options menu, tap Touch Input Chinese .
You can also access the input settings by pressing HOME > MENU and then tapping Settings >
Language & keyboard > Touch Input Chinese.
Input method & Keyboard
QWERTY keyboard or Phone keypad
Select the keyboard layout to use.
Select Chinese input
Tap to select the Chinese input method to use. See “Changing the Chinese onscreen
keyboard layout” in this chapter for details.
Chinese input settings
Tap to adjust the settings for the currently selected Chinese input method. (Available settings
depend on the selected Chinese input method.)
Chinese mode Select to recognize only Traditional or Simplified, or both.
Full width Toggle between recognizing Full width or Half width for symbols and
numbers.
Pen color Touch to change the color of the pen stroke.
Pen width Touch to adjust the thickness of the pen stroke.
Recognize waiting Touch to set the wait time for Handwriting to recognize strokes
when entering one character. Drag the slider to the right to increase the wait time; drag
to the left to decrease the wait time.
Support Fuzzy Select the check box to enable error correction. This helps in
suggesting the correct character even when you mistyped a Mandarin Phonetic
Symbol.
English input settings
Tap to adjust the settings for the currently selected English input method.
Prediction
Select to enable the word prediction feature when using the QWERTY
keyboard.
Spell correction Select to correct typographical errors by selecting from a list of
possible words that reflect the characters of the keys you have tapped as well as
characters of nearby keys.










