Installing the redundant fans

Procedure

Power down the servers.

Remove all power:

a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.

b. Disconnect each power cord from the chassis.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the servers and chassis.

Remove the chassis from the rack.

Remove the access panel.

Disconnect the fan 1–4 signal cables from the fan cage.

Install the redundant fans:

a. Install the fans in the fan bays 5–8.

b. Secure the fan 1–4 signal cables on the grooves on top of the fans 5–8, and then secure the cables with adhesive

tapes as shown in the following image.
