Display assembly, nontouch models
Before disassembling the display assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (
Preparation for disassembly on page 34
).
2.
Place the computer in Battery Safe mode (
).
3.
Remove the bottom cover (

Remove the battery (
).
Disassemble the display assembly:
1.
Remove the display assembly from the computer:
a.
Disconnect the display cable from the system board ZIF connector (1).
b.
Disconnect the antennas from the WLAN module (2) (select models only).
c.
Disconnect the antennas from the WWAN module (3) (select models only).
d.
Remove the four Torx T8 2.5 × 4.0 screws (4) that secure the display assembly to the computer.
e.
Rotate the display to open the hinges (5), and then separate the display from the computer (6).
2.
Flex the top (1) of the bezel, the inside edges of the left and right sides (2), and the bottom (3) of the
bezel until it disengages from the display enclosure.
