Installing the System in a Rack
Before installing the system in a rack, remove the internal components to reduce the
total weight of the system and make it safer and easier to install.
44 kg (96 lb) in carton
49 kg (108 lb) with pallet
WARNING: Use a forklift or a hand truck to move a system
that is still in its shipping container.
Removing the System Components
IMPORTANT: The following abbreviated instructions are appropriate for removing the
components from a system that is not being used. To remove individual components from a
working system, refer to the complete instructions in a later chapter of this guide.
Drive Blanks
Squeeze the release latches on the drive blank and hold them in while pulling the
drive blank out of the system.
Disk Drives
1.
Press the purple ejector button.
2.
Pivot the release lever to the fully open position.
3.
Pull the drive out of the system.
