Field Replaceable Units

This chapter provides a list of the field replaceable units (FRUs) and illustrations for
the FRU removal and replacement. Use the following tools for FRU removal and re-
placement:
6–mm nutdriver with 100–mm (4–in.) blade
#1 Phillips screwdriver with 100–mm (4–in.) blade
Light–duty, flatblade screwdriver with 150–mm (6–in.) blade
Needlenose pliers
A wide, flat object, such as a wooden ruler or flatblade screwdriver, for seating
the processor board
EEPROM removal tool: AMP No. 821903–1 (available from Support Materials
Organization)
ESD equipment (see the “ESD Precautions” section in the Preface for detailed
information)
CAUTION:
For each of the removal procedures in this chapter,
you must shut down the operating system, power off
the system, and unplug the power cord from the wall.
NOTICE:
To maintain FCC/EMI compliance, verify that all cov-
ers are replaced and that all screws are properly seated.
Refer to Figure 5–1 for an illustrated parts breakdown of the system unit. Table 5–1
lists all the FRUs for Model 715 systems. Table 5–2 lists some of the available EISA
interface options.
