The lename , gr oupname and ac c ountname iden tiers may

The envid has t w o v alid forms:

envname[.domain[.or ganization]]
If formaldesignator is not equated to another le, the
parameter sp ecies the name of an actual le.
*formal-
designator
Sp ecies a bac kreference to a formal le designator dened in
the FILE command. Note that this bac kreferenced form is v alid
only if it app ears to the right of the equal sign (=).
ler efer enc e The actual le designator of the le, in terpreted according to
MPE-escap ed seman tics. ler efer enc e can b e either an MPE
le (i.e., one that uses MPE syn tax) or it can b e a POSIX le
name b eginning with a dot or a slash. F or example, y ou can
use the escap ed pathname /SYS/PUB/FILE since it is equiv alen t
to the MPE name FILE.PUB.SYS .
If the le designator follows MPE syn tax, it m ust use this
format:

a lo c kw ord that y ou omit from the command line, MPE/iX
will not op en the le. In a session, MPE/iX prompts y ou for a
lo c kw ord as necessary .
