BREAKJOB
The BREAKJOB command susp ends an y executing job, including sp o oled and
streamed jobs. A job using a critical system resource do es not susp end un til it
releases the resource.
Syntax

Operation Notes
Usage
Y ou can en ter this command from a session, a job, a program, or in break
mo de. Pressing 4 Break 5 do es not aect this command.
Y ou m ust en ter this command from the console. Y ou can en ter this
command from a terminal other than the console under one of the follo wing
conditions:
The JOBSECURITY command is set to LOW and the job is logged on to y our
user accoun t. (AM users only need to match the job's accoun t name.)
Y our system administrator has used the ALLOW command, whic h p ermits
y ou to en ter this command.
Nonshareable devices
When y ou en ter this command for a job that con trols a nonshareable device,
a console message app ears that lists the device(s) that the job con trols. As
man y as ten devices may b e listed. Y ou can then decide whether to allo w the
job to con tinue running un til it releases the device(s), or whether y ou should
ab ort the job.
