Chapter 6
Installing Additional Boards
65
•
Four PCI slots (P7-P10) support full-length 32 or 64-bit boards at clock
rates of 66 or 33 MHz. These slots only support boards with +3.3 VDC
power and Universal boards. These slots have keys in the lower half of the
board slot to prevent boards w3.3 volt power from being inserted
into the slots.
The default bus speeds for slots 7-10 can be changed to 66 MHz in the
Setup Utility. However, if a 33 MHz PCI adapter board is inserted into the
bus, then the bus speed (at boot time) will be downgraded to 33 MHz.
NOTE
The HP NetServer has 4 Bus controllers handling four busses,
0, 1, 2, and 3 (default). If a DAC board or a similar type
controller is installed, additional buses are automatically
reassigned, up to 6 busses.

CAUTION
To prevent a system crash or hang, do not close the PCI Hot

closed, all Hot Plug capability for all PCI slots is lost and the
HP NetServer must be shutdown to remove or replace boards.
