Installing Mass Storage Devices
The PC uses flexible disk drives, IDE hard disk drives, and SCSI-2 drives. For other devices,
you may need to install a controller board or remove terminating resistors.
The PC is supplied with a 3.5-inch 1.44 MB flexible disk drive installed in the top shelf. Some
models have a hard disk drive already installed. The PC has four shelves for mass storage
devices — check with your dealer for supported devices:
•
the top shelf has a 3.5-inch "slim" (1-inch high) 1.44 MB flexible disk drive.
•
the middle shelf can be used for any 5.25-inch half-height front-access device, such as
a flexible disk drive or CD-ROM drive.
•
the bottom shelf can be used for a secondary 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch hard disk drive, or
for any 5.25-inch half-height front-access device.
•
the rear shelf is used for a primary 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch hard disk drive.
