FOR YOUR SAFETY! NEVER IGNORE A SMOKE ALARM THAT HAS GONE OFF. WHEN YOU HEAR THE
ALARM SIGNAL, YOU MUST GIVE IT YOUR FULL ATTENTION AND ACT ACCORDINGLY.
TESTING THE SMOKE ALARM
Before testing, make sure that the smoke alarm is connected to AC power supply and there is a 9V battery
properly installed. Make sure the green LED is ON.
Test your smoke alarm by pressing down the test button and hold it for 5 seconds, then release. Test the
interconnected smoke alarms by pressing the TEST button for 10 seconds. If all interconnected smoke alarms
sounds the alarm, it means interconnect function is working properly.
1. Always test all alarms after installation to ensure that they are functioning properly.
2. The test button performs a full test of all functions. Never use a naked flame to test the smoke alarm, since
this can destroy the alarm.
3. Test your smoke alarm routinely once a week.
4. Always test your smoke alarms after a long period of absence from the home and always when you return
from a holiday.
5. Always stand at arm’s length when testing your smoke alarm to avoid damage to your hearing.
HUSH FUNCTION
The smoke alarm has a separated button for the hush function. The hush function allows you to stop the alarm
signal for 10 minutes if it goes off due to a false alarm (such as normal cooking fumes). Activate the hush
function by pressing the hush button while the unit is emitting the alarm signal. The hush feature allows time
for the smoke to clear. During the hush time the smoke alarm will chirp every 32 seconds for 10 minutes.
