IMPORTANT: If the battery is not installed, the
battery compartment will not close and the smoke
alarm will continuously sound a battery missing
signal. When the battery is first contacted, it is
normal for the alarm to sound for 1 second. This
indicates that the battery is positioned properly.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The smoke alarm should be cleaned regularly, and at least twice a year. Clean your smoke alarm by vacuuming
externally along the opening to the detection chamber to remove dust and dirt.
IMPORTANT: Do not try to open the cover to clean inside the smoke alarm. This will negate the warranty.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
How often the battery needs replacing depends on the type of battery. It is recommended that you replace
batteries routinely once a year, preferably on a particular date. Alternatively, replace the battery when the
smoke alarm emits the low battery signal (short audible signal every 32 seconds).
1. Click on the side on the mounting base to open the smoke alarm (PUSH).
2. Remove the old battery.
3. Fold red battery lever down into compartment with fresh batteries. If the red battery lever is not held
down, the smoke alarm will not close and will not be operational. Use only batteries specified on the label,
check the correct po/-.
4. Press the test button to test the smoke alarm.
