Using a clean, absorbent cloth, squeeze air filter ele-
ment dry, being careful not to twist or tear the filter.
7.
Coat air filter in clean engine oil.
8.
Squeeze out excess oil.
NOTE:
Engine will smoke during initial start-up if too much oil is
left in filter.
9.
Reinstall the metal air filter plate in the support brack-
ets if it fell out during air filter removal.
10.
Reinstall air filter.
11.
Reinstall air cleaner cover.
Cleaning Fuel Sediment Cup
The sediment cup helps prevent fuel tank residue from
entering the carburetor.
Clean fuel sediment cup at the intervals specified in
Table 2.
To clean fuel sediment cup:
1.
Stop engine if it is running. Allow to completely cool.
2.
Place the generator on a flat, level surface.
3.
Turn fuel shut-off valve to OFF position.
4.
While holding the fitting above the fuel shut-off valve
with a 22 mm open end wrench, remove the fuel sedi-
ment cup assembly (sediment cup, o-ring, and fuel
screen) using a 10 mm box wrench.
5.
Clean fuel screen (A), o-ring (B), and sediment cup
(C), with soap and water.
6.
Rinse parts thoroughly with water.
7.
Wipe pieces clean with clean, dry cloth.
8.
Reinstall sediment cup, o-ring, and fuel filter.
9.
Turn fuel shut-off valve to ON position.
10.
Start generator and check for leaks.

• Thoroughly wash hands and any areas of skin exposed
to used oil with soap and water.

To clean fuel sediment cup, you will need:
10 mm box wrench
22 mm open end wrench
Household soap and water
Clean, dry cloth
