Situation
Possible Cause
Resolution
Unit is not plugged in.
Wall outlet is not working.
Wall outlet is controlled by a light
switch and switch is off.
Power strip is not on.
Power strip has bad outlet.
Make sure plug is firmly into the power strip.
Test wall outlet with another electrical
appliance.
Plug unit into a wall outlet that is not
controlled by a switch.
Turn power strip on.
Try other outlets, if none work, replace the
power strip.
Monitor does not power up.
If unit still does not power up, call Honeywell HomMed Customer Service.
Patient moves or steps off scale
during measurement.
Scale not connected or connection
loose.
Instruct patient to stand still on scale and to
wait for prompt before stepping off.
Make sure scale cable is connected to the scale
and to the monitor.
Reboot the monitor.
Weight does not register.
If the weight still does not register, call Honeywell HomMed Customer Service.
Scale cable attached to the
monitor
after
the monitor was
powered up.
Scale was not on a flat surface.
The scale was moved.
1.
Power-down the monitor.
2.
Disconnect the scale cable from the scale.
3.
Place scale on a solid, flat surface
4.
Reattach the scale cable to the scale.
5.
Reboot the monitor.
Scale does not zero properly;
monitor displays dashes instead of
0.0.
If scale still does not zero it must be recalibrated. Call Honeywell HomMed Customer
Service.
Patient decompensates easily after
obtaining weight...
The oximeter obtains an SpO2
reading in either 8 beats or 8
seconds. The reading is taken
again if it is out of range on the
initial reading (owing to CHF
related issues) where initial
readings may not be gathered in a
fully resting state.
Take a resting SpO2:
1.
After weighing, have the patient sit and
follow BP prompts but
IGNORE
the SpO2
prompt. Once BP is collected, the monitor
will know to collect an SpO2 reading.
2.
When prompted, the patient can place the
oximeter on a finger and take a resting
SpO2.
Patient is dressed differently.
Patient is unsteady and holding on
to support.
Retrain the patient on how to take a proper
weight. Have patient stand in the middle of the
scale.

Monitor displays varying weights.
Scale does not clear the carpet.
1.
Power-down the monitor.
2.
Disconnect the scale cable from the scale.
3.
Adjust the feet until the scale clears the
carpet.
4.
Reattach the scale cable to the scale.
5.
Reboot the monitor.
Blood pressure cuff leaks.
Loose connection
Defective cuff or hose
Tighten all tubing and cuff connections.
Replace cuff or hose.
